At the time of Miles Standish, the standard firearm was a large caliber matchlock musket. This used a slow smoldering length of cord (the match) to ignite a powder charge, and was replaced by the flintlock. Need photos or more information! This is likely a M 1816 musket. My questions are is it still in it's original flintlock configuration or has it been converted to percussion(as most are) ? Also what is it's overall condition? Without this info it is impossible to give the gun a value.
