I am not sure about the Japanese but for Mandarin there is a common misconception that CRISIS = DANGER + OPPORTUNITY, which is totally wrong. Crisis (Wei Ji) is made up of two characters Wei, which means Danger and Ji which means the initial moment of something. This word (Ji) in combination with other more favorable words can eventually give the meaning of opportunity but certainly not in combination with Danger, in whih case it conveys the sense of adversity. For a complete, qualified explanation please, read http://www.pinyin.info/chinese/crisis.html I hope this helps you to get started. Regards / Gabriel

No. You are not supposed to receive unemployment if you were fired "for cause," meaning you did something wrong. If you apply for unemployment, the employer has an opportunity to dispute your eligibility, in which case your application will be rejected. There is a chance the employer will not take that opportunity.
