As the partner of a Thyroid Cancer survivor?? that question came up just last week when we were told cancer was not fully gone. Today he received the dose in pill form. Anyone can be around the person who took the pill. It doesn't give off any more radiation exposure than a routine x-ray or scan at airport. Wouldn't matter to me as I would rather be exposed to the small levels and be by his side through this then be afraid of the exposure and let him deal with the cancer alone. I would even take on high radiation like they did to him after the first surgery and radiation any day and have him here with me. Which may have to happen again. No physical contact for seven days with anything or anyone. Prefer the pill any day. No worries you are safe.
