You should be able to find the diagram in the Haynes "How-to" Manual for your truck, some of these books are available at gas stations, we always pick one up at the local NAPA or AutoValue Auto Parts store. Great books, always convenient when you have an older vehicle!!!

how do i replace a throttle cable on a 1988 ford ranger pickup
In a manual for that vehicle.
To replace the serpentine belt on a 1988 Celebrity: 1. There should be a routing diagram in the engine compartment. If there is no routing diagram take careful note of how the belt to be replaced is routed. 2. Use a suitable tool to release the belt tensioner, then slide the belt off of the idler pulley and then off of the other pulleys. 3. Route the new belt on all the pulleys to the tensioner. 4. Release the tensioner and slide the belt over the idler pulley.

Check around the engine compartment, the underside of the hood, especially the top of the cross piece that the radiator is mounted to. In might also be on a guard that you have removed to replace the belt. Hope this link helps, it's a site dedicated to tech info on 73 to 87 chev trucks.
The Isuzu Trooper has a diagram for how to route the serpentine belt under the hood. The diagram is located on top of the fan shroud on the left side of the hood locking latch.
