As I understand who so ever has asked this question,he/she means to ask how a pH meter/indicator works and how the controller would control the pH being monitored/measured! Generally the pH of liqid is measured using the pH electrodes(the Glass one and the Ref. one)These are dipped in the liquid and the liquid is stirred a bit to form/create a bridge connection between the Ref.electrode junction and the Glass electrode membrane junction having a very high impedence and a very minute amount of current would flowdue to the Hydogen Ion concentration of the liquid under measurement generating proportional milivolt signal.This signal is measured and generally it is 54.1 milivolt per pH.The values pf pH are between 0 to 14 as number where 7 means Neutral,0 to 6.99--is acidic and 7.0001 to 14 is Basic. The pH control part is to add such chemicals to the upstream of liquid sample being measured which would change the pH as required(The added chemicals add the Hydrogen Ions or subtracts the same).
