You mean "wet tail"? Simple. You don't need to go to your vet, it's sold in just about every local pet store. It's called 'dri-tail' and can be given to your hamster through its water or their food. I suggest putting it in their water though, because hamsters drink a lot and that means they'd have a better chance at fighting the disease. If they are so ill that they really aren't drinking or eating, then you'd have to give it to them yourself.. following the directions on the bottle of course.
i would suggest go to either the pet store or the vet , the store will probably have medicine for it any how and the vet will look at it and stuff and suggest to you what medicine you should get if not just ask them
Yes they can, it is commonly known as a sticky eye where your hamster cannot open their eye and can even have puss coming out of it.
Try not to panic, and when your hamster eye first sticks take it to the vet for anti biotics. Every morning and every night take a cotton wool pad and dampen it in warm water wiping it gently over the eye clearing the crust, as the hamster trys to open the eye, gently pull the skin back ever so slightly to help them. If there is a lump around the eye, this is likely to be puss, if puss is coming out, wipe it and encourage it out gently, this may scare your hamster so keep them occupied with treats like vegetables for them to nibble.
Seek medical advise when you take your hammie to the vets and include any special requirements in this process, the infection may last a few days but if it persists or gets worse, take them back to the vets as there may be a more serious problem.
The best thing to do is to take your rabbit to the vet. The vet will help you and your rabbit.
The right treatment depends on the cause. Rabbits can have eye infections for many different causes. The reason why a vet is important is to find out what is causing the infection.
If you try to treat the infection at home, you might miss the real problem and make your bunny suffer worse pain and illness. For example, ointment won't help your bunny if the infection is caused by dental disease (which is one possibility).
Make sure you see a vet who specialises in rabbits. Bunnies are very different from cats/dogs and vets who don't know rabbits can make fatal errors.
