Uk law Can you build on land that you have claimed by adverse possession?

[Edit]
In theory, if you claim "adverse possession", then the land is (by definition) now yours and you can do anything on it that the previous legal owner could, subject to all the same regulations such as zoning and building codes.

This is often the time to "quiet title" to the land, usually by bringing suit in land court, so that you do not invest money improving land that the previous owners can assert is "the first they've heard of" you claiming any ownership.
