I have enjoyed helping parents and working with THEIR children with behavior problems for over ten years; before that I worked with mostly people 21 years old all the way up to 95 years old, in a residential setting since 1978. Also behaviorally challenged children that ALSO have special needs or learning disabilities who still live at home with their families. I would enjoy answering questions and offering ideas based on my experience. For my job I must pass Medication Administration tests yearly, so I will answer medication questions when I know the answer. Over the years, I've been assigned to assist a wide variety of families in the "Crisis Intervention/Family Support" program for my state agency. Helping a diverse population with a wide array of family dynamics has been challenging but rewarding. I enjoy helping people, and try to answer questions in a non judgemental and factual manner, which seems to click with most people. Including working with adults, then children and adults, teaching everything from daily living skills, behavior modification techniques, social interaction, sex ed, structured recreation activities (some for the first time in their lives), I've been at it going on 29+ years. I still LOVE my work, and probably will NEVER retire. LOL I think I really "click" with the kids because I'm just a big kid myself:)) I was known as a "naughty" child once upon a time (I know, hard to believe isn't it!), so I can really relate to "naughty" kids. I MAY HAVE TO GROW OLD, BUT I DON'T HAVE TO GROW UP!!!!!!! Seriously though, I find nothing more rewarding than watching my charges grow from problem kids to responsible, well adjusted young adults, oft times when everyone else, including "experts" and "special schools" have GIVEN UP on them. I'm the original advocate for "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND"!! <<<ADR>>>
