Who wants a credit point from me?

Well, read what do I do on WikiAnswers and do the same!

Some days I look at the alternates of a question to see if any should be separated. If they are not asking THE SAME QUESTION as the original, then they should be split off, sometimes as separate questions, but sometimes two or three go into the same new question.

Here's an example:

The following wordings currently redirect to the "primary" wording "Can you give me a full report on the snow leopard from head to tail?"

1. How long is the leopard's tail? [ Misplaced: Move | Separate Question: Split | Move to Bad Spelling/Grammar Tier ]
2. What eats a full grown snow leopard? [ Misplaced: Move | Separate Question: Split | Move to Bad Spelling/Grammar Tier ]
3. How do the leopard head look like? [ Misplaced: Move | Separate Question: Split | Move to Bad Spelling/Grammar Tier ]
4. How many offspring do a snow leopard give birth to? [ Misplaced: Move | Separate Question: Split | Move to Bad Spelling/Grammar Tier ]
5. Can you give me a full report on the effect of cinema? [ Misplaced: Move | Separate Question: Split | Move to Bad Spelling/Grammar Tier ]
6. Is a jaguar 's tail smaller than a leopard 's tail? [ Misplaced: Move | Separate Question: Split | Move to Bad Spelling/Grammar Tier ]
7. How long is a snow lepoards tail? [ Misplaced: Move | Separate Question: Split | Move to Bad Spelling/Grammar Tier ]
8. HttpwikianswerscomQHow long is a snow leopard's tail? [ Misplaced: Move | Separate Question: Split | Move to Bad Spelling/Grammar Tier ]
9. What does the snow leopard use its tail for? [ Misplaced: Move | Separate Question: Split | Move to Bad Spelling/Grammar Tier ]
10. How long is a leopard's tail? [ Misplaced: Move | Separate Question: Split | Move to Bad Spelling/Grammar Tier ]

First: I would split Q5. The cinema question. Nothing to do with a report on snow leopards. See the little button after it saying "Separate Question: Split". Click on that. It becomes a new question. It's still in the Snow Leopard Category, so I click on the Question and change the category. Deselect all and then change it into Movies.

Next: Look at Q1 and Q10. They are both asking how long a leopard's tail is. Not the same as the main question. Copy the wording of Q10 first and then split it off as a separate question. Now Q1. Don't split it off! MOVE it. Click the move button and move it into Q10, which is now a new question. Paste in the wording of Q10, which you copied. So these two alternate questions that were asking the same thing have both been split off into ONE new question. Excellent!

Next: Look at Q7 and Q8. They are both asking the same thing (how long is a snow leopard's tail, not the same as Q1 and Q10). So again I split off the good wording (Q7) into a separate question. And then I MOVE Q8 into it. Nice work!

Then: All the others need to be split off into separate individual questions, because they are all asking different questions.

Good work! If anybody does an exercise like this, leave the question on my message board and I'll have a look (Credit point for you!!). You'll be a supervisor soon!

Here are some questions. Remember someone might have cleaned them up before you.

(Three to come out of this one, maybe four) http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Would anything happen to the snow leopard if climate change&action=editalternates

(Only two of these are good) http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Tibetan translation for snow leopard&action=editalternates

(Only a few in this one) http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does the snow leopard live in China&action=editalternates

(And a few in here) http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What is the name of a baby Snow Leopard&action=editalternates

Or you can find your own, of course! Good luck!
