I'm passionate about end user documentation that works for non technical users. I'm currently working on documenting OpenOffice.org, the free open source office suite that supports ISO 26300 and ODF documents.

I am sure you have complained about:

  • I can't find in the (Open Office) help files what I'm looking for and
  • What I find is written in some jargon that is a foreign language to me.

I'll try to change this by using short videos to demonstrate functions and features of the Open Office applications instead of describing them. Theses videos are available on a website where they are supported by a smart search engine that learns the users language and finds topics without hitting the right keywords in the jargon of the application.

For example look at http://plan-b-for-openoffice.org/ where we provide tech support for OpenOffice.org users.
