Hello. I am Thomas Corriher. I never had a desire to be a Supervisor on this forum, but the amount of FUD taking place became unbearable. FUD refers to the tactic of using Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt to frighten people away from what is considered unwanted competition. Microsoft agents pioneered this approach of slandering competitors in online forums throughout the late 90s, while pretending to be average computer users having problems: and these problems were always with competitors' software, of course. This approach is sometimes called astroturf, because it is fake grass-roots support for the company paying them, and against their competitors. The goal is to create enough fear that people will be driven away from the alternatives, regardless of how much better the alternatives may actually be. I am seeing the same thing happening here, and only the players are different. This time the astroturfers who are spreading the FUD are mainstream medical experts, and the competition is alternative medicine. The fact they so desperately want to silence us speaks loudly for alternative medicine.

I have a real problem with people who spread lies and dissent to further their agenda -- especially when it means giving people fewer choices at the expense of their health -- even their lives. For you astroturfers, there is a new sheriff in town. For the rest of you, I am here to help you as best I can or work with you.
