Darksyde is a wellspring of mostly-useless trivia that it is eager to unleash upon the WikiVerse. It is also a gender-non-specific cyber-being who enjoys the anonymity of the internet. As several have discovered, Darksyde and Velyr are part of a science fiction universe created by Darksyde. It is always happy to discuss its world, and even happier to sell you a story if you happen to be an editor, agent, or publisher. Writing and storytelling is a favorite hobby of Darksyde.
Here is the NaNoWriMo progress chart for National Novel Writer's Month -- where a bunch of writing fools get together once or twice a year and try to write 50,000 words in one month!

Another hobby is photography. One day, Darksyde is actually going to get around to marketing all those artsy photos and maybe start a website, but for now, you will have to imagine it's artistic prowess. It also enjoys reading ... basically everything. Darksyde is one of those beings who, if nothing else is available, will read the back of the cereal box. It just enjoys adding to that trivia wellspring. Favorite genres include science fiction and mystery, with the odd nonfiction thrown in whenever it wonders about anything it can't figure out.

Favorite music includes anything by U2. Darksyde also listens to many other bands and musicians, however - most every genre except rap/hip-hop. It's musical taste is as eclectic as it's reading. Darksyde has done many, many things in pursuit of a living: state park naturalist, lab assistant, short order chef, wait staff, custodian, writer, journalist, tutor, classroom teacher (both high school and college), tour guide, drug dealer ... er ... pharmacist.

Darksyde can be found bouncing from topic to topic supervising the site. Leave a message if you would like to contact it. It can also be found on LiveJournal as darksyde_lite and velyrhorde and on LibraryThing as velyrhorde.

Darksyde's philosophies of the Wikiverse:
* Please respect other Wiki-citizens and try to respond to them in the way that you would like someone to respond to your questions. And don't bother telling any of us that you LIKE IT when someone responds to you with "Your Mum" or "You're an idiot" when you are trying to find something out!

* Please remember that not all Wiki-citizens speak proper English - some of them are young children who do not have the skills you do; others are using English as a second (or third, etc.) language and have not mastered the grammar. Instead of making fun of the question, quietly change things into proper English and go your merry way.

* Please remember that this is a G-Rated website. This is not the place for you to solicit sex, talk about where to buy drugs, or ask to see pornography.

* Please remember that this is NOT a social network website - there are many, many places where you can chat with your friends, but WikiAnswers is not one of them.

* Please remember that asking someone else to do your homework for you is cheating; it is illegal and morally wrong. WikiAnswers will not do your homework for you - we WILL help you learn how to do the homework!

* Please follow respectful critique methods - do not insult the person who asks the question; criticize the facts instead of the messenger; do not erase the opinions of other Wiki-citizens except to correct poor grammar or totally incorrect facts; remember your manners at all times

Darksyde's Philosophies of Life
* Life means not waiting for the storm to pass, but learning how to dance in the rain!
* Life is not a dress rehearsal!
* Don't take life too seriously - you'll never get out of it alive!
* Life is relationships - the rest is just details!
* The life I touch for good or ill will touch another life, and that in turn another, until who knows where the trembling stops or in what far place my touch will be felt.
* We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once; and we should consider every truth false which was not accompanied by at least one laugh.
* If my doctor told me I had 6 minutes to live ... I'd type faster!
* You don't get to choose how you're going to die, or when. You only get to choose how you're going to live. Now.
* To live is the rarest thing in the world - most people exist, that's all!
* When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me!"
* The meaning of life is not to take a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out , screaming ... WOW! What a ride!"
