Having spent my entire career in sales and marketing I have worked for, owned, sold to and marketed for retail businesses and understand everything from business loans, shrinkage, P & L to merchandising and personnel-especially as to problem solving. I have always had a creative and artistic gift and found ways to incorporate this skill into my work. Much of what I have learned is not on paper, but self taught. If it interests me, I listen and learn, I read and research to understand it better. AS a result, I can help with ettiquite issues, graphic design, ad copy, organization, all forms of advertising and camera security for home and business. I bought a 90 year old house and learned everything I needed to know about repairs and maintenance. I can wire, repair and refurbish anything wood and paint, paper, decorate.... and if I can't do it, I know what needs to be done. That because as a woman, hiring someone to fix something, if you don't know what the problem is and what needs to be done and how much it should cost, you can get taken. Contractors have tried! Then the DIY network came along and I learned even more. I will fearlessly attempt to do anything. I learn from the experience, good or bad and can address a lot of issues regarding homes...from plumbing to roof repair, replacement windows and landscaping. As to my knowlege of things legal...the long and incredibly convoluted process of divorcing, and the financial and legal situation I was left with turned me into a self-taught "lawyer". My husband ran up major credit card debt, robbed me of investments and savings, forged my signature...the list goes on. So with nothing to loose, I fought everything I could and won most. Dealing with credit card companies gave me the opportunity to help others with credit problems and I cleared a lot of bad credit reports and even sued a major bank card and won $9,000 because my friend was unjustly denied a mortage refi and 9K is what it cost him by not getting a lower rate!
I am a voracious reader and while I read fiction, it does have redeeming benefits. I have learned about the law, phychiatry, medical issues..(you know what authors I'm reading, right?) I am currently a full time caregiver. My parents are both 88 and in poor health. I am single so I decided the most important thing I could do was to move in to their home and care for them so they could "age in place" and not be sentenced to nursing home care. So - does anyone out there want to date me?!!!! Ha!
