Ok maybe It's time for a little more information about me.I grew up in the Woods of Maine and had the most wonderful parents anyone could want. The amount of freedom and support they gave helped me grow into a strong and independent adult.At 20 I joined the US Air Force and while in college was recruited to work at the Air Forces' facility in area 51 of the Tonopah Test Range in Nevada on a Top Secret project. In 1990 I was deployed to Operation Desert Shield which later became Operation Desert Storm in January of 1991.I have dedicated myself to learning as much as I can about as many things as possible so when the reduction in force came along in 1993 I retired from active duty and purchased a Landscaping business in Las Vegas, during the slow times I worked as a Radiological laboratory Tech at Lockheed Analytical Laboratories.I found out that I liked growing things very much, and decided to pursue the landscape trade into its most technical field. I made a local Golf Course Manager hire me as an equipment operator by harassing him every week until he gave in. After one month of operating equipment I was promoted to Irrigation Tech, another month and I was the course Mechanic which it turns out I had quite an aptitude for in no small part thanks to my Father who showed me how to work on cars. A year later and I became the Assistant Superintendent, two months after that the company execs fired the Superintendent and offered me the position.Within 6 months I had turned the place around and won the Superintendent of the year award out of 300 other candidates. The Golf Course made profits never before seen and regained the respect of the community. I did this for 5 years until the politics of the corporate Golf industry got to me and I had to leave. The golf industry took a huge hit after 9-11, and in an effort to survive the company took everything from the courses that were making a profit to hold up the ones that weren't, a bad move all around because it negatively affected all the courses and did nothing to stave off bankruptcy and the inevitable bail out.I picked up where i left off with the Landscape business for 2 more years working with high end properties until I found a position as Equipment Manager at a smaller non-corporate Golf course. I happily repaired my 80 maintenance machines, maintained the course facilities and water features for another 5 years during which time I started spending time answering questions on a little site called FAQ Farm.Well one thing led to another and here I am.I love animals,I have an English Bulldog named Max, a Wheaton Terrier named Benji,3 cats named Sarge, Moe, and Batty Coda,2 Parakeets named Ernie and Headdy.
Wikianswers is my refuge, I love the interaction with so many different people, and being able to help others by answering their questions.I hang out mostly in Cars and Vehicles but I can be seen poking around almost anywhere.
