Hello everyone. I am an American teenage girl, but I guess I'm not quite your average teen. I am very politically minded and pay attention to the issues. Instead of some rambling paragraph about my beliefs, I will just briefly mention some of them.

1. Homeless people should be treated better than our society treats them. Notice the word "people." They are people, too! So we should treat them as such.

2. Abortion should be illegal. All those poor fetuses are being killed. By the way, fetus is a medical term. It was never meant to suggest that they are not human. It is even more mentionable to note that the word "fetus" means "young one" or "little baby" in Latin.

3. We should be doing more to protect the environment. This is our home, and we should treat it properly.

4. We shouldn't be investing so much in the space program. It is costing a whole lot of money. While we're wasting all that money, there are way too many starving people in this country and around the world. Think of how many people we could feed with all that money we are currently throwing away into space.

5. Women and minorities should be treated better. They say equality has been reached, but women are paid on average around 75 cents per $1 men earn.

6. I also wish our government would stop wasting so much money on nuclear weapons. We can't use them, so why make them?

7. I know this isn't a hard-hitting political issue, but it bugs me a bit. People gossip so much! It seems especially common in people my age.

8. This also isn't a big deal, but I dislike the way most girls my age dress. Their clothes are so tight. I try to dress more conservatively.

Real debate isn't name calling and shouting. I think social and political change could come more quickly if people would just calmly discuss the problem.

P.S. I realized that I didn't really say much about me besides my beliefs. Besides editing WikiAnswers, I enjoy soccer, photography, reading, writing, playing video games (yes, girls can be gamers), and other things to occupy myself. I sometimes wish I had more time for these activities, but school keeps me busy...
