I've been a coin collector since, well, just about forever. My specialty is American circulating coins from the mid-19th century to the present. In addition I work with modern banknotes (bills) and dabble in German coins. Other things I enjoy are computers, carpentry, science fiction, languages (French and German so far), classical music, 1930s/40s jazz, trains and trolleys, international travel, good food and wine ... plus bad puns.

If you have a question about an American coin's value, usually all that's needed is the coin's date and denomination. In fact, a lot of answers have already been posted - you'll probably be able to find an answer right away by wording your question like "What is the value of a (date) US (coin)?". For example, "What is the value of a 1954 US nickel?" will take you right to the answer for that coin!
