Michael Bacolas was born in Salinas, California, in 1966, to Robert Bacolas, Sr. and Alma Jane Bacolas. In 1970, when he was 5, the family moved to Juneau, Alaska, where his father was hired as Chief of Police for the Capital city of Alaska. The family moved to Anchorage in 1976, where Michael attended Anchorage Christian Schools, a Baptist school through the Anchorage Baptist Temple.

In 1982, Michael moved back to Juneau. During the 1982 gubernatorial campaign, Robert Bacolas Sr., then President of the Alaska Culinary Union, Local Union HERE 878, and supported candidate Bill Sheffield. For that support, Michael's father was appointed to the position as Director of Labor Standards & Safety, Wage & Hour, for the State of Alaska.

Michael attended the University of Alaska, Juneau, in 1983, and as an entering freshman, was elected to the position of Vice President of the University's Student Government. During the 1980's, Michael worked in management in the retail and restaurant services industry.

He relocated his family to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1990 to attend college, graduated from Phoenix College with honors in 1993, with an AA degree. In 1996, Michael graduated from Ottawa University with a BA in Psychology. He earned 38 credits in post graduate coursework, until a family medical tragedy in 1998 caused him to gain full custody of his four children from a previous marriage: Michael Jr., Christopher, Amanda, and Jennifer.

During the 1990's, Michael's employment was in the behavioral health services industry, working at the Maricopa County Psychiatric Annex as a Psychiatric Technician, at Community Psychology & Education Services (CPES) as a Program Supervisor, and at Arizona Baptist Children's Services, Little Canyon, as a Behavioral Health Technician.

Due to financial reasons, Michael changed his career to Internet sales in 2001. His past and current businesses include Smart Lending Solutions, World Lending Services, and SLS Information Services. He founded the Counseling Outreach for Battered Women & Abused Children in 2005, which closed that same year due to lack of funding.

Michael remarried in 2007, a beautiful, smart, and highly moral woman by the name of Twalla Robertson. In 2008, Twalla gave birth to their first child, Daniel Patrick.

Through the trials and tribulations of being a single father of 4 children, working in the highly stressful behavioral services industry while attending college studies, and pursuing philanthropic pursuits, Michael Bacolas is truly a remarkable man.

And he lived happily ever after...
