Born in Birmingham, England in 1930 but now live in Australia. My interests are Family History, Poetry and short story writing. Log onto "Poems by Robert Harrison" if you are interested. I am married and have been since 1956. I have two boys and two girls, all having flown the coop many years ago but still living within ten minutes drive.
I have been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for about forty years and am a Family History Consultant and Teacher in the church. I have been a "Jack of all trades and master of none", which I find handy as I am able to turn my old hands to most things. I enjoy helping folk when ever and where ever I can.
Now in my 81st year I find that my experiences in life may be of some help to others.
I do hope that all who have a desire to contact me will do so freely. Go to my message board and leave me a message and I promise to get back to you.
I have two favorite quotes the first is "No amount of success can compensate for failure in the home". The second is "Long live the weeds and wild flowers yet"
I was taken to the Art Gallery in Brisbane in February 2012 by my daughter. Having most of my life been somewhat partial to the old masters, I was introduced to some modern and abstract art. I was facinated by the colors, shapes and subjects that the artists had painted. I was hooked, well and trully hooked.
Not having painted any kind of pictures since my school days I was determined to learn this new form of art. I spent hours on UTube looking at the ways artists applied the paint to the canvas. I marvelled at the deftness they applied the paint, and though I could not as yet understand what some of the works meant I was determined to find out.
I now have a few poorly attempted picturs on my wall. But this Old Codger is determined to make a go of it. Wish me luck will you?
May you all be blessed with the righteous desires of your hearts and may you all live live long and be happy.
My deepest respect to you all,
Robert
