Hi! I live in the lovely Appalachian Mountain region of Kentucky, otherwise known as The Bluegrass State. The map to my house is over the river and through the wood, over hill, over dale, and on a dusty trail. I love living out in the country and enjoy all the wonders of nature in an area my husband and I call "Bird Paradise"
I'm married to Cleo, and have four wonderful children, two boys and two girls ages 19 to 30 - Brandy, Brandon, Tyson, and Chrissy. I also have six lovely grandchildren, four boys and two girls - Lacie, Cory, Kurtis, Adrian, Tyson Jr, and Kyler.
I have an 85 pound Doberman named Lady, but we call her Gertie and she answers to both. She's spoiled rotten and thinks I belong to her and she is my master!

I also have a miniature Doberman (Min Pin) named Tiny, because she's tiny, about 6 lbs. She thinks I'm hers, too. She believes she's the big one and bosses Gertie around every chance she gets. She's very protective of our home and will bark for days at any strange new item we bring into the house.

When I have time, I like to cross-stitch, crochet, or embroider. I love to read and have hundreds of books I won't part with. I also love to cook and try new recipes. But what I love most is my computer, and I spend most of my time in the room I use as my office. I've worked in offices most of my life and wouldn't know what to do without one at home.
I enjoy writing, and have won a few awards and have had some of my poetry published. English was my major in college, with Journalism as a minor. Twenty years ago, I scored in the top 1% of the nation in English on the ACT test. I've learned that unused knowledge doesn't disappear, it just sits there waiting patiently to be used again and shines brightly with a little gentle polishing. My work with WikiAnswers has brought my English skills to the forefront and I'm grateful for the chance to put them to good use!
On WikiAnswers, I work with Community Outreach, am a Mentor, and supervise quite a few of the Literature and Language sub-categories. It's hard for me to pinpoint a "favorite" activity within my categories. The Organizer in me loves to recategorize and get those alternates in order, but the English lover loves to correct spelling, grammar, etc. The Writer loves to transform a string of individual answers to a question into one cohesive answer, and the Researcher enjoys searching for information and answers. And, of course, I love being involved with the WikiAnswers community, promoting its growth and making new friends. With WikiAnswers, there's always something fun to do!
