Hi, my name is Susie and I live in Fort Worth, Texas USA. I have 2 ferrets - Little Boy (male sable ferret) age 2 1/2 years old and Abby (Female albino ferret) age 9 years old. I have 1 cat named "kitty". Update - Kitty is now an Angel in Heaven. He was put to sleep 5/16/2008, after three dogs attacked him. He suffered with horrible injury. I adopted him as a kitten, and he was with me for 8 years. He may be gone, but will always be in my heart forever.

My Adventures - In some of my travels, places I've been:

I have walked across "The legendary Abbey Road crosswalk" in London, UK. On August 8th 1969 The Beatles crossed the pedestrian crossing by Abbey Road Studios to pose for pictures for the front cover of their new album. Only six pictures were taken in all, and the photo shoot lasted for 10 minutes. I posed on the crossing to recreate the iconic photo as has millions of other people.

I have walked down
"The world famous ''Mathew Street in Liverpool, ''UK - Birthplace of the Beatles and the site of '"The Most Famous Club in the World -The Cavern Club and the "Magical Mystery Couch Tour of the Beatles' Liverpool" a two hour tour of "The Beatles Story" about the lives of The Beatles, their homes, schools, birthplaces, Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, the homes where John Lennon and Paul McCartney grew up and many other landmarks

I've explored "Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness in the Highlands, Scotland"
Urquhart Castle remains an impressive stronghold despite its ruinous state. Once one of Scotland's largest castles, Urquhart's remains include a tower house that commands splendid views of the famous loch and Great Glen.

I've toured "Fort Augustus Abbey, properly St. Benedict's Abbey, that was a Benedictine monastery, from late in the nineteenth century and was closed to the public in 1998 after more than one hundred years as a Benedictine Community in Fort Augustus, Inverness-shire, Scotland

I have been on top of the "Eiffel Tower in Paris, France"

I've traveled on the Eurostar high-speed passenger train that operates between the UK and Europe to Paris, France

I've dined at the revolving restaurant on top the Space Needle, Seattle, Washington

I've rode the Big Shot at the Stratosphere - A ride that shoots you straight up 160 feet at 45 mph (over 4 Gs) until you are 1,081 feet above the Las Vegas strip in Nevada

I've parachuted from a plane and jumped at 30,000 ft in the air at Skydive, Texas

Walked around Stonehenge, one of the most famous sites in the world

Taken a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon

Been Horseback riding through the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado

Explored old Gold Mines in Colorado

Been river rafting down the Colorado River, Co

Been down inside the Hoover Dam, between the U.S. states of Arizona and Nevada

Been deep sea fishing in Florida

Been on a Norwegian Cruise ship to the Bahamas and U S Virgin Islands - Megan's Bay, St Thomas - One of the most beautiful beaches in the world

I've been to Disney World in Orlando, Florida

I've been to New Orleans, Louisiana staying at the Le Richelieu in the French Quarter

I've been to Hot Spring. Arkansas

I've been across the Continental Divide driving through Trail Ridge Road in Colorado which is the highest continuous highway in the United States

I Am Your Ferret

I am your ferret, and I have a little something I'd like to whisper in your ear. I know that you humans lead busy lives.

Some have to work, some have children to raise. It always seems like you are running here and there, often much too fast, often never noticing the truly grand things in life.

Look down at me now, while you sit there at your computer.

See the way my dark brown eyes look at yours. They are slightly cloudy now. That comes with age. The gray hairs are beginning to appear.

You smile at me; I see love in your eyes.

What do you see in mine? Do you see a spirit?

A soul inside, who loves you as no other could in the world?

A spirit that would forgive all trespasses of prior wrong doing for just a simple moment of your time?

That is all I ask. To slow down, if even for a few minutes to be with me.

So many times you have been saddened by the words you read on that screen, of others of my kind, passing.

Sometimes we die young and oh so quickly, sometimes so suddenly it wrenches your heart out of your throat.

Sometimes, we age so slowly before your eyes that you may not even seem to know until the very end, when we look at you with grizzled muzzles and cataract clouded eyes

Still the love is always there, even when we must take that long sleep, to run free in a distant land.

I may not be here tomorrow; I may not be here next week.

Someday you will shed the water from your eyes, that humans have when deep grief fills their souls, and you will be angry at yourself that you did not have just "One more day" with me.

Because I love you so, your sorrow touches my spirit and grieves me.

We have NOW, together.

So come, sit down here next to me on the floor, and look deep into my eyes.

What do you see?

If you look hard and deep enough we will talk, you and I, heart to heart.

Come to me not as "alpha" or as "trainer" or even "Mom or Dad," come to me as a living soul and stroke my fur and let us look deep into one anothers eyes, and talk.

I may tell you something about the fun of running through tunnels, or I may tell you something profound about myself, or even life in general.

You decided to have me in your life because you wanted a soul to share such things with.

Someone very different from you, and here I am.

I am a ferret, but I am alive. I feel emotion, I feel physical senses, and I can revel in the differences of our spirits and souls.

I do not think of you as a "Ferret on two feet" -- I know what you are.

You are human, in all your quirkiness, and I love you still.

Now, come sit with me, on the floor.

Enter my world, and let time slow down if only for 15 minutes.

Look deep into my eyes, and whisper to my ears.

Speak with your heart, with your joy and I will know your true self.

We may not have tomorrow, and life is oh so very short.

Love,

On behalf of ferrets everywhere
