I have an interest in hagiography - the study of the lives of the saints - and sacred relics. I have a relic ministry in my home diocese that provides authentic relics to local parishes for veneration.
I also do volunteer work in wildlife care and rehabilitation. And am holding about 50-60 animals at my home - many parrots, a fox, coati, many turtles and tortoises, alligator, dwarf caiman, Mexican beaded Lizard, etc.
I have been an Oblate of St. Benedict for nearly 30 years associated with the Holy Trinity Monastery in St. David, Arizona. Oblates are lay members of the monastery who try to live by the rule of St. Benedict within their own communities. I taught in a Catholic School for 13 years. Now that I am retired, I minister to the elderly as well as to the "least of our brothers" - animals turned into our wildlife rescue group.
Am a member of the Society of the Body of Christ, founded by my dear friend Sister Anne Meaney, of Corpus Christi, Texas. We minister to the sick and dying.
One of my hobbies, when I have time, is genealogy. I enjoy tracing my roots.
