Volvo 960 will not start. Sometimes does not start engine will turn over but there is no spark you can leave it for an hour or two then it will start but today no luck. Will not start at all.?

I would suspect that the pick up coil is defective. The coil has a number of names but is essentually a small magnetic coil that initiates the spark. The fine wires can connect or separate depending on the temperature.
