Mexico was involved in World War Two (1939-1945) after 3 Mexican oil tankers were sunk by German submarines and after Mexican agents trained by US intelligence agencies discovered Japanese and German spies plotting to invade the Mexican port of Veracruz in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as Mazatlan and Acapulco in the Pacific, so that they could use these as bases of operations to invade the United States.

Mexican President Manuel Avila Camacho declared war on the Axis Powers in May 22, 1942. Mexico sent a modernized air squadron of 36 pilots in P-47 Thunderbolt planes, known as the 201st Air squadron (Spanish: Escuadron 201). Mexico also supplied 150 military servicemen and they fought in the battle of Okinawa, performing air support operations during the entire Pacific Campaign at the liberation of the Philippines.

Not only did Mexico supply a handful of soldiers and airmen but also provided cheap raw materials, oil, and braceros(temporary workers) to help the US while most of their men were fighting out in the war.

Many mexicans entered the United States during the world war2 because of the bracero program :Dhope this helped!!!

My Father, who is mexican / american and flew B-24 Liberators in the Pacific theatre during WW2, told me that there was a Mexican squadren of P-51's piloted by Mexican pilots sent to Europe. They did not do very well, He told me that the squadren suffered heavy losses. I also believe I saw an old black and white movie about this on a spanish channel while channel Surfing.

To annonymous, Hitler didnt send them the letter to ask them to invade America. That was in WW1 it was called the Zimmerman note

Yes, Mexico was invloved in WW2. I found that at one point they were even allied with the axis powers(Germany and Italy) They wanted to strenghth their relationship with the US as well, so they helped us out during the war. They had about 36 airman that they sent into the war.

They did not take an active role in the war until 1942 after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. As a result the United States and Mexico created the "Joint Mexican-United States commission."1 The commission`s main purpose was the creation of a plan for the defense of Mexico and the south western United States. It was not until May of 1942 that Mexico finally declared war Germany and Japan after two Mexican tankers in the Gulf of Mexico by German submarines. The Mexican government decided to created an air squadron to fight in the Pacific. After a year of training in the United States Squadron 201 arrived in the Philippines in April of 1945. The squadron was mad of of Flying P-47 Thunderbolt fighters and they took part in long range reconnaissance and bombing runs over Taiwan. There were 32 pilots, of which 7 died.1

None. Mexico was in the middle of its Mexican Revolution; however, Mexico was part of a plan that contributed to the US entering WWI: the 'Zimmerman Telegram' was a coded telegram dispatched by the Foreign Secretary of the German Empire, Arthur Zimmermann, on January 16, 1917, to the German ambassador in Washington, Johann von Bernstorff, at the height of World War I. He was to offer Mexico material aid in the reclamation of territory lost during the Mexican-American War, specifically the American states of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Eckardt was also instructed to urge Mexico to help broker an alliance between Germany and Japan. The Zimmermann Telegram was intercepted and decoded by British cryptographers, and the revelation of its contents in the American press on March 1 caused public outrage that contributed to the United States' declaration of war against Germany and its allies on April 6, 1917.

After Germany sinked the oil tankers SS Potrero del Llanoand SS Faja de Oro by the U-654 and U-106 on May of 1942, Mexico abandoned its neutrality policy and declared War on the Axis on May 22 of that year.

Although most countries in the Americas eventually declared war on the Axis, only Brazil and Mexico committed troops to the war effort.
