Fred Rogers never served in the military, he was a member of the Clergy. A quick look at his biography and you can see that he never had time to be a member of any armed forces. And he never had any tattoos.

Fred Rogers did indeed serve in the military. He served from 1928-1934 as a tactical sniper. He earned the purple heart for saving a mans life.... I pooped.

Nope, he was either in college or working on a television show throughout the Vietnam and Korean War.

His supposed 150 confirmed kill count is higher than the actual highest confirmed sniper kill count in U.S. history.

Also, there are videos of him swimming that do not show any tattoos.

No, Fred Rogers never served in the military. He went directly from high school to college in 1946 and did not serve in Korea. He got a bachelors degree in music composition in 1951 and subsequently worked for NBC and KQED in Pittsburgh. He attended Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1963. He was too old to have enlisted during the Vietnam War.

Actually, that rumor has been dismissed as a myth by Rogers himself, in 2002, the year before he died.
