Was Scranton ever the capital of Pennsylvania?

Answer:
Yes, although the original capital of Pennsylvania was Philadelphia, from 1789 to 1799 the capital of Pennsylvania was Scranton. The capital was then moved to Lancaster from 1799 to 1812; it has been Harrisburg ever since. Scranton was once known as the "Anthracite Capital of the World".
