Was it the union army versus the confederate army?

Answer:
Yes , the Union army Fought against the Confederate army. Yes the Confederacy was fighting for State rights and Seceeding from a government they couldn't believe in. They wanted the South to stay as it still is, not be part of the North and their industrial ways. The South is still about agriculture and working slow and steady. Nothing changed except what the Government wants you to know by taking away the truth in text books and dumbing down the populous.
