Yes Sponge bob was designed to be gay and for nick at night and personally i think he is so different that kids don't realize he is gay i think sponge bob is half gay and half strait other than that i love watching his show dosent matter bout the gay part SPONGE BOB RULES

∙ 11y agoYes, originally SpongeBob was suppose to be on AdultSwim. The idea was instead of Spongebob and Patrick as best friends were suppose to be a gay couple. Nickoloden had a better idea and bought it off, and turned it into a kids show.
