Was the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor truly a surprise attack?

Answer:

Answer

Absolutely not.. Roosevelt and the Chiefs of Staff knew exactly when and where the Japanese were going to attack 10 days before the attacks came. Do you think it was a coincidence that the bulk of the fleet and all carriers were out to sea only 48 hours prior? Entering WWII was FDR's ONLY option to bail him out of his failed socialist policies that had put the nation in to the Great Depression. We had no business in Europe or the Pacific and nothing at stake and the US was never going to be threatened or attacked by either empire. Those that remained at Pearl were deemed to be acceptable losses and damage and was just enough to dupe the public in to rallying against the Axis. This is common knowledge and has been undeniably proven to be fact by every major historian and war expert.
