No I don't think that there were computers in the 1940's TV's just started in the 50's if there were computers (which I highly doubt) thaey wouldn't be anything like today's computers. A little bit of searching will show that there were primitive computers. They were mostly mechanical analog computers rather than electronic digital devices like we have today. They were mostly used for computing bomb and rocket trajectories. Some very early electronic computers were built in England and the U.S. to help decode encrypted Axis messages.
no, the first analog computer was invented over 2000 years ago.
the first digital computer was invented in the 1830s.
modern digital computers were invented during WW2.
Yes, there were. In fact, the first computer was invented in 1856.
no the computer was invented in the year of 1940 , you should know you are using the computer right now.
Yes.
Prior to the 1940s, computers were humans paid to do computation. Usually they had mathematics degrees but spent all day calculating with manually operated desk calculators. After the 1940s, computers were machines replacing the humans that used to do those jobs. However the best displaced human computers became the programmers of the machines.
Analog computers were first made in the late 1920s, Digital computers were first made in the early 1940s.
No NASA diid not exist until 1959, programable electronic digital computers were invented in the 1940s.
The first computers developed by British intelligence at Bletchley Park were designed to break the German Enigma codes.
Alan Turing's work in the 1940s led to the development of modern computers. Computers small enough to be used in homes have been available since the early 1980s.

Alan Turing's experiments in the 1940s were a forerunner of computers. The computers built in the 1970s functioned like today's computers but were much bigger.
