In my opinion, the best squad not to win a championship is the 1983 Houston "Phi Slamma Jamma" team with Olajawon and Drexler. The Fab Five deserves credit for being runner-up in back-to-back years, but considering they didn't even manage to win a Big Ten title means they don't belong in the category of best ever not to win the championship.
