Yes There were a few in fact in two events. The most significant was on Halloween on 1984 when 7 tornadoes touched down in Oklahoma and Kansas. In eastern Kansas there were two were rated F1 and other was an F0. Eastern Oklahoma saw an F1, but the worst damage was in the northwestern par of the state where two F2's and an F3 touched down.

There was a smaller event in Florida on the Halloween of 1985 with an F0 in the Panhandle and an F1 in Tampa.

Do you spell out 1980s or spell it as 80s?

Both of those are correct spellings. Formally, it is 1980s but many people spell it as 80s because it is shorter and faster to write. We usually say 80s when we are talking about the previous 80s. For example, when it is 2190, we will call the 2180s the 80s and in the year 1490, they also called the 1480s the 80s. I hope this helps you.
