Was there an RAF Hospital at RAF Marston Moor?

Answer:
Apart from the normal medical centre I don't think there was a hospital during WW2 as there is nothing noted in the 'Geographical Index of RAF Units dated October 1944 published by the Air Ministry. Marston Moor was HQ No. 41 base and a Bomber station under 7 Group St Vincents, which was in Grantham, it opened in 1941 and was subsequently closed in 1945 and its telephone number was Tockwith 29. It had 36 heavy bomber hard standings, 1 x B1 and 6 x T2 hangars, 206 officers, 744 SNCOs, 1164 ORs totalling 2114. 12 WAAF Officers, 20 WAAF SNCOs, 326 WAAF ORs totalling 358. The accomodation was classed at temporary. The runways were of the typical Bomber station design in a triangular setting one of 2,000yds and two at 1,400 yds each being 50 yds wide. Affiliated sub stations were Acaster Malbis and Rufforth.
