People in England did not want slaves themselves. There was a triangular course over the Atlantic This enabled people in Great Britain to trade the slaves that they captured in Africa to the colonies in Maryland, USA, for things like tobacco that could be sold in England

If you mean "were black African slaves taken to the UK" then the answer is probaby no. Black African slaves were taken to colonies in the British Empire, mostly in the Caribbean.

Slavery was abolished in Great Britain in 1772 by Lord Mansfield and Britain outlawed the slave trade with the Slave Trade Act in 1807.

Slavery still exists in the UK and many parts of the world in the 21st Century. The number of slaves globally today remains as high as 12 million to 27 million, though this is probably the smallest proportion of the world's population in history. Most are debt slaves, largely in South Asia, who are under debt bondage incurred by lenders, sometimes even for generations. Human trafficking is primarily for prostituting women and children into sex industries. It is the fastest growing criminal industry and is predicted to eventually outgrow drug trafficking
