Were Houston Stewart Chamberlain and Neville Chamberlain related?

Answer:

No. You probably mean Arthur Neville Chamberlain (1869-1940), Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

And yes, if you mean Field Marshal Sir Neville Chamberlain (1820-1902), prominence in Munity etc., command of Madras Army, final service with Roberts in South Africa.
Prof. Field wrote, in his excellent biography "Evangelist of Race" the following:

"Most decorated of all was Houston's favorite uncle and boyhood hero, Sir Neville Chamberlain, who won fame for his bravery in the Afghan and Sikh Wars and in the Mutiny. He was eventually promoted to Field Marshal by Queen Victoria and made a Knight Commander of the Bath." (p. 19)

Nice question, though.
