What is the family life like in Honduras?

many individuals choose to live in Honduras because it is affordable, the weather isn't bad, and they're tired of life in the states. like anywhere, there is crime, but too often it is exaggerated. catrachos (Hondurans) are pretty friendly and the country itself is mountainous and beautiful. like any third world country it has its share of problems such as widespread poverty, poor education, etc. but one can live well and inexpensively. like many others have said, the best way to judge for yourself is to go and visit and, ideally, live there for a short time to get a better idea of what life is like in Honduras. north Americans have already flocked to Roatan and other places in Honduras but the best places are where there aren't too many foreigners as they tend to cause an increase in real estate prices and their mere presence changes the community drastically. it would be better to speak Spanish as few Hondurans speak English. Spanish speakers have a huge advantage assimilating into the community. just go for it! if nothing else consider it an inexpensive vacation. best of luck.
