Hormone central...it regulates other hormone producing organs (Endocrine System). There are anterior and posterior sections of this tiny gland. The posterior releases hormones that affect blood pressure and breast milk. The anterior pituitaryis much more active. It controls the hormone systems responsible for growth and thyroid, adrenal and sexual function.

Pituitary gland is an endocrine gland. it is the master of all glands in your body and is located at the base of the brain. The main functions of pituitary gland is:-

(i) To produce hormones e.g anti diuretic hormone(ADH), luteinizing hormones(LH), oxytocin and etc

(ii) Storing hormones produced by hypothalamus

(iii) Control water balance via anti diuretic hormone production

(iv) It lead to breast milk production

(v) It controls blood pressure

(vi) It regulates temperature

(vii) For gonadotropin (sex Hormones) production

The pituitary gland's main function is to produce Hormones/Neurotransmitters into the bloodstream or back into the brain.

The anterior pituitary synthesizes and secretes the following important endocrine hormones; Growth hormone (GH), Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), Thyrotropin-Releasing Hormone (TRH), Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), Corticotropin-Releasing Hormone (CRH), Prolactin (PRL) also known as 'Luteotropic' hormone (LTH), Luteinizing hormone (LH) in females' or 'Interstitial Cell-Stimulating Hormone' (ICSH)in males, Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), Melanocyte-stimulating hormones (MSHs)

The posterior pituitary stores and secretes the following important endocrine hormones; Oxytocin, Antidiuretic hormone (ADH, also known as AVP, arginine vasopressin)
