Nickelback haven't actually said... everyone is uncertain and has different interpretations...you can search them up on other websites, some people believe it to be religious, about war or about a lover who is on the edge of life and needs this girl to say yes to him, but nobody but Chad, Ryan and co. know really... But it took them 6weeks to write! It was the hardest on their album apparently... they just couldn't get it right, and it apparently came by by accident because chad just lost it and picked up the guitar and it finally sounded right:') But nobody really knows...:\ you'll have to interpret it yourself...
