Technically you don't need any qualifications to be a photographer. However as with any employer, we use the grades to make a judgment on the type of person you are, that is, whether you are hard-working or not. However, having high grades in the more creative subjects such as Art, Design etc would be beneficial when you start putting your CV out.. What is more important than grades though is a good looking portfolio of your Photography. Ideally this will demonstrate your skills and creative flair behind the camera and is worth much more than a few high grades.. So start building your portfolio, focus on the style of photography you want to pursue. Which could be fashion, wildlife, fine-art, wedding, architectural, editorial, stock etc.. If someone came to me looking for a job and their portfolio was a mish-MASH of different styles, I wouldn't think "here is a guy who is adept at multiple styles", I would think "here is a guy who hasn't a clue what he wants to do"..

Being a photographer is very hard work though, but it can pay well if you stick at it (and are good at it).

Just owning a digital camera doesn`t make you a photographer.
