What Olympics were before the modern Olympics?

Answer:
From 773 BC to 393 AD the "Ολυμπιακοί Αγώνες" Olympic Contest [Games] were held every four years [this period was called Olympiad and was a calander measure mean for the ancient Greeks] honouring the father of gods and men the god Zeus [Ζεύς]/ Dias [Δίας].

The participants were of Greek origin and no foreigners were permited to attend the events at least until Greece was occupied by the Romans [146 BCE - Southern territory and 53 BCE the Northern parts]. After the occupation Roman Emperors participated "de facto" and were winning the "κότινος" the olive tree wreath.

During the event the Olympic Truce was honoured by those who were involved in hostile activities.
