Cervical cancer is typically caused by HPV. Studies have shown some 70% of cervical dysplasia and cervical cancer are caused by HPV.

The human pampilloma virus is the STD that causes cervical cancer.

I have read on any things that something like 30% of women that have cervical dysplasia that end up having cervical cancer it is not proven to have come from HPV. I am assuming this means that not all cervical dysplasia is caused by HPV...I guess.
