It also happens to be the state's largest lake, but it is oh so salty. (about 35% saltier than the Pacific). It is about 230 feet below sea level! Tens of thousands of birds migrate there. It is a diamond in the rough,and, it's getting rougher since the courts ruled that coastal towns should get any extra potable water, instead of keeping the lake from drying-up.
