What a vet does for a dogs broken leg?

Answer:
Hi, I am not a vet but might help you from my personal experience. I have two Hungarian pointers, one of them as a young puppy broke her left back leg around join area(called patella). We made many x rays and saved her(she has 2 screws in her leg, which will fix and hold the bone forever). I have to admit that the whole process after the operation requires a lot of time, patience and rehabilitation. On the other hand she s happy to limp only on 3,she seems to be fie with it and even today cca. 4 years after the operation, when her leg is tired she walks on 3. But thanks god, usually she uses all four. I guess when its back leg, its possible to cure it. About fronts I am not sure,as because of this I had to euthanize my horse(not sure how its about dogs with front legs as their anatomy differs from equine.)
