Genesis is the first book of both the Jewish and Christian bibles. It's name in the Greek means origin. This book tells us where we as humans came from.
Starting with the Creation of Heavens and the Earth by God the Creator in chapter one verse one, it continues to for 50 more chapters and ends with the death of Joseph, Abraham's great grandson, in Egypt. This span of time of the book of Genesis is about 2400 years.
