I don't think that polar bears live in mountains, but I think the hollow hairs that they have contain oxygen which they heat up and use to keep themselves warm. Their seemingly white coats are for camouflage when they're hunting in the snow and the big teeth and claws used when hunting prey. They also have sticky pads on their feet to stop them slipping on ice and they have evolved to walk on all fours so that their mass is distributed evenly over the ice so that they don't fall through it.

Not really; they live on floating sea ice in the Arctic. In the summer where there is not much ice left, they move onto land, some of which is glacier covered.
