Here as you are a teenager , you will need all the love and concern of your family to support you at these hard and trying times.

Just to add onto this, i am a 16 year old who comes from a small country town in western Australia. my girlfriend (19) fell pregnant a few months ago. At first it may seem new, and even confusing, but what you have to remember, is that something amazing will pull through in the end, and even if you choose to abort, it makes you mature a heap more and gives you a brand new outlook on life. just remember that your partner needs you just as much as you need them. my best of wishes to any of those who have been through this as well!

Prevention: keep an open dialog with your child and help them with Birth Control when that time comes. Support them so they are strong enough to say no if they don't want to. Get to know their boyfriend/girlfriend. Make sure they understand how their life would be if they did become parents, especially if you as his/hers mother was a teen mom yourself.

If they are pregnant/had the baby: all you can do is support them in their decision but also make sure to show them how different their lives will be. That includes financially, emotionally, education, relationships and everything else. Help them set up a life plan and stick to it.
