- A 26 year old male should be living on their own (only if he is living in his father's home.) It is not uncommon for fathers and sons to disagree on many subjects, but, often when the young male gains more wisdom throughout life and matures it is possible for father and son to have a better relationship. However, there can be a problem where a father may live through his son and want the son to do the things he regretted not doing or, the father may be jealous of his son's youth. It would be wise for the 26 year old male to put space between his father for a couple of months so both can think things out because at the present time it is a toxic relationship. By no means should the 26 year old male go throughout life refusing to see his own father. If the father doesn't change the son can as he matures and will be far more patient and just accept his fathers rantings. It is far easier to walk away from an argument or bad comment by the father than to respond to the father.

Most advices are not meant to be disrespectful and abusive. People who like to give advice are often of especially caring nature. For me, the best way to understand such help and advice is to think of this, and be grateful that someone cares about me.
