What agar gell is used to culture germs?

It is the agar gel which is used to make foods with a suitable concentration of specific substances (ex: NaNO3, KCl, H2SO4, (NH4)2CO3, etc).



Agar is a non-nutritive substrate to which nutrients are added . Different bacteria need different nutrients, some substances are added to aid in the identification and isolation of bacteria. The agar provides a base for the bacteria to grow on and extract nutrition from.
