If it's still with it's mother then she'll take care of it, but if it's be rejected by it's mother or abandoned then it will be when it's about 6-12 weeks old. Also when it's teething is a sign to be weaned.

At around 8 weeks, anytime before that is too young because the mothers need to teach their young manners and the pups will get out of their biting phase earlier as the mothers will make them know it's wrong. They also learn to communicate with their siblings and learn the difference between play fighting and real fighting.

What should you feed your puppy's for the first time?

Some scrambled egg or some non-sugar porrige. Puppies should be gradually weaned onto a QUALITY puppy food that has at least 28% protein and 17% fat. They should be kept on this puppy food up until they are 6 months old and then gradually weaned onto a QUALITY adult dog food that has 18% protein and 9-15% fat. Leaving a puppy on puppy food too long can cause rapid growth which can lead to joint problems.

a 3 week old puppy is too young to leave it's mother, it hasn't been weaned yet. when you are shopping for a puppy make sure that there are no visible sores, look for fleas; check the gums make sure they are nice and pint (if they are too white, the pup may be anemic).

When is the best time to take the puppy from it's mother?

The best time to remove a puppy from its mother is once it is weaned. A puppy should remain with the litter until at least six weeks old, preferably eight weeks old. The longer it is on mother's milk, the healthier it will be but it may be better if you get it earlier because if it remembers its family it can die earlier from depression
