If she is legally adopted, her 'parents' have custody of her, and as minor, she may not live with you, if she doesn't have constent of her legal caregivers. If she lives with you before she's at least sixteen, you can be arrested for kidnapping, child abuse, and endangering a child's life. Since you live in Arizona, the cut off is 16 instead of 18, but until then, she is considered a minor in the eyes of the law, and is thought of a personal property of her parents.

∙ 15y agoIt is not covered in the law. Arizona is one of the few states that does not grant 'emancipation' and if the child is under 18 either they, or the parent, would have to petition the court for a change of primary guardian. It MAY not be granted since the judge originally probably had good reason for making his decision in the first place.

∙ 7y agoThe age of majority in Arizona is eighteen. Until then the legal custodian has control over the child's activities and major decisions. Therefore, your daughter cannot "choose" to leave her grandparents and live with you until she is eighteen without the consent of her legal custodians.
Keep in mind that your parental rights were terminated when she was adopted by her grandmother and step grandfather.
