Puppies should not wait past 6 weeks of age for their first round of puppy shots, doing so leaves them at risk. Most vets give puppy shots at 6 weeks, 9 weeks, 12 weeks. I also have my dogs vaccinated every few weeks until they are 16 weeks of age (as suggested by my vet).

8 weeks is the norm. to have pups get their first set of shots and be wormed. Then they wil have to get another set at 12 and 14 weeks. The parvo shot is the most important because that virus can be very deadly for a pup.
